These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in the GrantRush Referral Program. By participating in the program, you agree to these Terms in their entirety.
ANY VALID AND EXECUTED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT SUPERSEDES THE TERMS BELOW.
1. Program Overview
Welcome to the GrantRush Referral Program – where spreading the word about grants can put some extra cash in your pocket! As a participant, you'll get your very own magic link to share with potential customers. When someone uses your link, signs up, and becomes a paying customer, you'll earn a reward. It's like getting a thank-you card, but with actual money inside!
2. Services
Referral Services: Here's what we're inviting you to do as part of our referral dream team:
- Share your special referral link with potential customers (think of it as your digital business card)
- Make warm introductions by bringing together GrantRush and potential customers for a virtual coffee chat
- Help keep conversations moving forward in a way that gets people excited about GrantRush
- Tell people about GrantRush in a way that's accurate (no promising we can make grants appear out of thin air, please!)
3. Eligibility
Who can join our referral program? We're pretty open-minded, but there are a few boxes to check:
- You need to be at least 18 years old (sorry, entrepreneurial teens!)
- You'll need a valid email address and PayPal account (for us to send you those sweet rewards)
- You'll need to create an account at our affiliate portal (affiliates.grantrush.com) – it takes less time than brewing a cup of coffee
- You'll need to play by the rules outlined here and follow applicable laws (the boring but necessary part)
- Current and former GrantRush employees, contractors, and their immediate family can't participate (we'd love to include everyone, but that would be a conflict of interest)
We reserve the right to decline applications or end participation if needed – kind of like how a party host can ask someone to leave if they're raiding the refrigerator.
4. Referral Process
Once you're in the club, you'll get your unique referral link to share. For a referral to count (and for you to get paid), a few things need to happen:
- Your referral needs to click your link and sign up (they can't just teleport to our site on their own)
- They need to be new to GrantRush (existing customers trying to sign up again don't count – nice try!)
- They need to become a paying customer by completing at least one payment (we'll pay you 20% commission for up to 12 months of their subscription)
- You'll earn a $100 bonus when you reach 10 paying customers (paid once when you hit this milestone)
- They can't be from your own organization (referring your CEO isn't exactly bringing in new business)
- You can't refer yourself (we know, we know – you're your own biggest fan, but it doesn't count)
5. Referral Links
Your referral link is the secret sauce that makes this whole program work. Here's the scoop:
- Your referral link is generated on your affiliate dashboard – it's like your personal golden ticket
- If someone doesn't use your link when signing up, we can't track it. It's like trying to deliver a package without an address – we want to pay you, but we need to know who to thank!
- Standard referral links look like "grantrush.com?ref=yourcode" – not the prettiest thing in the world, but it gets the job done
- When someone clicks your link, they'll be whisked away to "app.grantrush.com/signup?ref=yourcode" where the magic happens
- Feel free to get creative with URL shorteners or fancy buttons, but make sure that special "ref=" parameter stays intact – it's your digital signature
- We recommend testing your link before sending it out – it's like checking if your microphone is on before giving a speech
6. Rewards and Payments
Now for everyone's favorite part – getting paid! For each successful referral, you'll earn:
- 20% recurring commission on the monthly subscription fee for each customer you refer for up to 12 months
- Commission is calculated on the net amount received from the customer after any discounts, promotions, or credits are applied
- $100 milestone bonus when you reach 10 paying customers (paid once when you hit this milestone)
- Payments are processed monthly (net 30) for all eligible commission earnings
- You can track your referrals and earnings on your dashboard in real-time – it's like having a scoreboard for your referral game
- Commissions are paid for the first 12 months of each referred customer's subscription, starting from their first paid month
- If your referral cancels during their subscription, commissions will stop for subsequent months
- We reserve the right to withhold payment if we detect anything fishy – we're trusting souls, but not naïve
- If you're so successful at referring new customers that you make more than $600 in a calendar year (congratulations!), the IRS will want to know about it. At that point, we'll need you to fill out some tax paperwork (a W-9 for US folks or a W-8BEN for our international friends) before we can send you more of that hard-earned cash.
- We love paying our referral partners, but Uncle Sam has rules we need to follow. If we ask for tax forms and don't receive them within a reasonable time, we'll sadly have to hold your payment. If we still don't receive your forms after 90 days, those held payments will vanish into the ether (or technically, become void). Don't let the IRS come between you and your rewards!
- For our superstar referrers who reach the IRS threshold, we'll send you a shiny 1099-MISC form in January to help with your tax filing. Think of it as a certificate of achievement... that you have to report to the government.
7. Referral Link and Marketing Guidelines
When telling the world about GrantRush, here are a few ground rules (think of them as the "please don't make us look bad" guidelines):
- Don't make stuff up about us – we're pretty great as we are, no embellishment needed
- No spam, phishing, or other digital trickery – nobody likes that guy
- Feel free to use our marketing materials, but don't Photoshop them to make promises we can't keep
- Our logo and trademarks are like our personal signature – please don't forge them or use them in unauthorized ways
- Follow the rules of whatever platform you're using – we can't bail you out if you get banned from Twitter for breaking their terms
8. Prohibited Activities
A few things that will get you kicked out of our referral program faster than you can say "but I was just trying to help":
- Creating fake accounts to generate referrals – we appreciate creativity, but not that kind
- Using bots, crawlers, or other automated systems – our program is for humans, not robots
- Offering kickbacks to people for using your link – no under-the-table deals, please
- Referring yourself with different email addresses – we weren't born yesterday
- Referring your family members or coworkers – expanding our reach means finding new organizations, not just new emails
- Bidding on our keywords in search engines – that's stepping on our digital toes
- Creating websites that might be confused with ours – imitation is flattering, but this crosses the line
- Anything else that makes us question your intentions or harms our reputation – we'll know it when we see it
9. Term and Termination
A few housekeeping items about how long this partnership lasts:
- We can change or end this program anytime – kind of like how Netflix can remove your favorite show without warning
- If we update these terms, your continued participation means you're on board with the changes – it's the digital equivalent of a nod
- If you break the rules or we suspect funny business, we can show you the virtual door
- We can hold back or take back payments for referrals that don't pass the sniff test
10. Non-Exclusivity
Our relationship status: It's complicated. Actually, it's non-exclusive:
- We might have other referral partners – don't get jealous, there's enough GrantRush to go around
- We might approach potential customers directly, even in your territory – no calling dibs on entire states or industries
- You're free to promote other products too, even our competitors – we're confident enough in our relationship
11. Limitation of Liability
Here's where we legally say "it's not our fault" for various hypothetical scenarios: GrantRush isn't liable for any damages related to your participation in this program. The most we'll ever owe you is the total amount you've earned through the program. Think of it as us promising not to take back more than we've given you – seems fair, right?
12. Privacy
Your participation means you're okay with us collecting and using your information as described in our Privacy Policy. We promise we're not doing anything creepy with it – we just need it to run the program and pay you.
13. General Provisions
- These Terms are the whole enchilada – no side agreements or "but you said in that email" arguments
- If one part of this agreement turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands – like removing one bad apple from the bunch
- California law governs these Terms – think sunshine and legal precedents
- Any disputes will be handled through binding arbitration in California – much less dramatic than a courtroom showdown
